Newly elected Councilwoman Lindsey Horvath will be sworn-in at the next regular meeting of the West Hollywood City Council, which will take place TODAY: March 16 at 6:30 p.m. at the City Council Chambers at 625 N. San Vicente Blvd, south of Santa Monica Boulevard. Congratulations Lindsey!

Training: How to get Appointed to Boards & Commissions

Service on government boards and commissions permits you to contribute to your community, learn a great deal and develop leadership skills and a political resume. But, it is not easy to get that appointment! The League of Women Voters and the National Women's Political Caucus, Greater Pasadena Area chapter, are hosting a training program from 6:30 to 8:30pm on Tuesday evening, March 31st, at the Altadena Library's Community Room, at 600 E. Mariposa Street. Meredith McKenzie, (Altadena Library Board Trustee) will moderate a panel discussion on boards and commissions, and follow with instructions on how to get your application accepted.
