WHAT
The National Women’s Political Caucus was founded in 1971 under the leadership of Shirley Chisholm, Gloria Steinem, and Betty Friedan and from that time it has worked tirelessly to elect women to political office. Today the NWPC is eagerly awaiting the fruits of its labor in the election of Hillary Rodham Clinton to be the first woman President of the United States. To mark this HERstoric event, on the weekend following Hillary Clinton’s election, the National Women’s Political Caucus of California is hosting its Bi-Annual Convention in San Jose.
This will be a joyous occasion drawing women from all over California. Senator Barbara Boxer will be the featured speaker for Saturday’s lunch, and the evening Gala will feature several special guests from the Clinton campaign.
